What is Happiness?

J. M. K. Walkow

“happiness turns out to be an activity of the soul in accordance with virtue”, Aristotle.

Heidegger believed the Western world to be on the brink of profound nihilism (the rejection of all religious and moral principles).

Here are a few Naturalistic Fantasy’s (NF) interpretations of what happiness is to Aristotle, Kant and Heidegger:

  • continuous virtue + sufficient external goods
  • universal duties + reference to others
  • experience of past + present + future possibilities
